I recently went out and spent $600 on a pretty awesome system for Boxee.

1 TB Harddrive
8 Ch surround sound onboard
Wireless card
nVidia 8200 onboard
Micro ATX box
3-core AMD processor

Can't wait until it's fully functional.

None of the above.

I have Boxee fullscreen on at TV that is set-up as a second display, and then use my primary display for normal computing.

So you use Boxee on a computer that you also use for normal computing correct? ;)

Hi,

I'm using a dedicated system with boxee on ubuntu:

Asus P5E-VM HDMI ( http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=584&l4=0&model=1912&modelmenu=1 )
Intel Dual Core 1.8Ghz
2x 500Mb Samsung HD (ultra quiet!)
NOX Media case with iMON remote ( http://www.nox-xtreme.com/media.htm )
3 years old 32" LCD Flat TV ( connected via DVI )

I'm pretty happy with my box, fast, silent, and plays everything up tp 1080p.

:)

Currently I have my boxee computer at my office. I have it connected to a 4 port IOGear KVM switch and a 19" monitor (other 3 systems are servers). I use the boxee system only for boxee. I play music, videos, & dvds while I am at work. Eventually, I plan to move the system to my home and connect it to my 50" LG. Like some of the others above, I purchased a system to use only with boxee. So far, I have been very pleased with the performance of both the system and boxee software.

System::
HP Pavilion Slimline s3521p
Ubuntu 8.04
AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core Processor 5200
4 GB Memory
500 GB HD
DVD Burner (Need to upgrade to a bluray)
Built in Wireless
Nvidia GeForce 6150 Se Graphics
Size: 4" (Tall) X 11" (Wide) X 13" (Deep)

I really like the slimline size for use as a media server. The box is maybe 1" taller than a dvd player when laid on its side.

My Main setup is a MacMini 2ghz hooked into a Panasonic PT-AE900u projector w/ a 100" screen in my living room. But I do ocassionally use Boxee on my iMac in the bedroom for playback as well.
I have half a dozen raid setups in my house as well with total storage over 10TB, majority of it being used for x264 HD media.

Boxee just works.

100" screen? 10tb of storage?

I thought my 60" flatscreen and 4tb of storage was a lot.

I'll have to run it by my wife, but do you need a roomate? I don't eat much! :D

i've used it on my 32" SDTV (older sony trinitron), but honestly, the fonts aren't so readable on there, so i usually stick to my laptop.

i'm going to wait and see if the skin is revised since this has been discussed before, but if not, i'll probably make a skin geared toward SDTV usage. seems like quite a bit of work though, so that'll be rather far down the line if it happens

Fair enough. I may have read into it, a bit.

I thought it meant: Some times you Boxee, sometimes you 'compute' (read: browse digg). I use them simultaneously.
