This is more related to Linux,

It would be really convenient if Boxee could manage Linux's network connections in its User Interface instead of having to use two separate programs.
Especially since networking is so important to Boxee and I hate most of the network managers out there.

hi and welcome to boxee,

while we have developed this in the past, we found that it brings more trouble than usefulness.

if networking works or not under the os its an os issue. bring its management into boxee and it becomes boxee issue. additionally, networking, under 99% of circumstances is a one time configuration, not something you would need to manage on a daily basis, so there is little merit to sustaining the feature, especially multiplatform, as boxee does.

I understand where you're coming from, and yes, it would be more work than it's worth.

Although it's quite unfeasible, I kind of wish that boxee would become the OS itself.

- Have it's own filesystem optimized for media
- Without loading all those extra libraries, startup would be a breeze
- Increase in speed and efficiency
- etc.

It'll probably never happen, but one can dream. In the meantime, I'll try to be more helpful.
