View Full Version : Terrible flickr quality

When I look at any photos from flickr, they appear in extremely low resolution. When I view photos from picasaweb, though, it seems to work fine. Is there a setting I'm missing? Or this just a 'feature' of the alpha version?

Otherwise in love with boxee! has already replaced XBMC/aeon in my living room!

hi johnnius

welcome to boxee..

thanks for the report, seems like an alpha issue will test it here...

cheers

Thanks for the info.

I'm running boxee on a 'nilla hardy 8.04.1 install using the fglrx drivers. Setup was painless, amazingly straight forward compared to some of the media applications I've tried.

Keep up the great work!

I just installed on apple tv and am seeing the same low flickr res issue. it appears that it is using the thumbnail for full screen viewing.

Ok, found that it is your privacy setting. You must allow 'anyone' to download your images so that boxee can access the 'original' or largest image size for viewing.

This is unfortunate for several reasons:
1. it leaves your images vulnerable to download on flickr
2. it makes flickr viewing on boxee extremely slow because it is downloading the largest size rather than a size comprable to your resolution. ie: the min size to make it look good.
