When I ran boxee for the first time It synced up the first 15 artists in my collection alphabetically, but nothing past that. I can play the music by going under music/browse/local music, but it will not show up under my music library. I can't figure out how to get the music to play like is should. Help...

I am at the moment trying to decide if I have the same issue or if boxee is just really really slow indexing the music on the share. I have about 15,000 mp3 and wma files organized in folders (artist\album\...) all with folder.jpg thumbs for every album as well as embedded album art where possible. Anyone else that is on the Windows Alpha since longer with a big music collection have any insight how long it could take to index?

I'm also having problems with indexing music.

It has index, partially, four albums from 89Gb of mp3's which have all been tagged via the muzicmatch software so I can only suggest that the tags are correct.

It seems to be churning away, which has so far caused two MAJOR crashes, no bsod, just a reboot with no explanation.

they are.... a search of the forums can provide more discussion about this issue than you could ever read. :)

short: boxee indexes via last.fm... in an future build--probably not anytime soon--boxee will switch to id3.

I'm having the same problem indexing my music collection. I have about 2300 mp3's organized into folders by artist. Most of the files have id3 tags (tagged from various apps including iTunes & WinAmp). When I first started using boxee it indexed about 15 or 20 artists. Since then, I let it run overnight each night and it indexes about 3 or 4 artists in 8 hours. No crashes yet.

I'm having the same issues as well. Should I just leave boxee open for an extended period of time to allow for indexing?

I've noticed that its not only doing this for music, but also for movies and videos as well. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or this is how it is.

Same issue here. From some artists only one of three albums has been imported.

But all my music is scrobbeled to Last.fm...

Can I change or do something to get my music imported?

Last.fm is nice & all, but it seems that music recognition right now is more miss than hit. If we don't want Last.fm integration, would it be possible to put in an option to just use ID3? Or is ID3 functionality so complicated that it's not a quick-fix?

The reason I'm talking about this is that all of the music on my test PC is from Amazon MP3 store so it's about as "clean" and organized as it gets, but Boxee recognized around 1/3 of it. Others seem to have similar experience :(

Now even when I leave boxee open overnight it does not seem to index more of my mp3 files. I have 170+ artists in my mp3 directory structure, but boxee has found only 75 artists so far and it seems to be done.?

when you say it indexes by last.fm, do you mean it simply reads the folder name, and determines the artist/album from there, and looks up the tracks, album art etc from last.fm?

I really like the artist layout in boxee, and the lyrics integration is nice though I haven't tested it yet.

Shame about not using the id3 tags, but would it be possible to change it's behaviour so it still shows the album just with the folder name, in the instances where it can't find a match on last.fm?

It seems to have only recognised about 840 of my 1200 albums, there are some which are quite rare and aren't on last.fm either, so it needs to handle these exceptions better IMO.

Cheers

Now that is a lot of brass air fittings http://www.liangdianup.com/subpages/airfitting_1.htm there is just about every type
of air fitting that you could want. Wholesale prices too. I guess these could be used as small water pipe fitting also. I
used some of the parts to make my babington wvo burner.
