View Full Version : More Mouse-Friendly Interfaces

I'm not sure if the title I chose for this topic really explains what I'm looking for.

First of all, I realize that Boxee is intended to work with remote controls, but I'd like to see more of the interface developed for mouse users, too.

I'd love to see the following:

1) It would be nice to be able to have the main menu available no matter where I am in the program.

2) It would also be nice to have a context menu when playing videos. I'm sure that remote control users can probably just press the stop button or fast forward or whatever, but mouse users don't seem to have any of those options (unless I'm missing something obvious, which is entirely possible).

3) It would be nice if there was a setting somewhere to go offline if you wanted to (again, maybe there is, but I can't find it).

In addition, although the Esc button takes you back one step at a time, it would be nice to have a back and forward button in the interface itself that mouse users could push, rather than having to remember that the Esc button does that.

With such a nice looking interface, it's a shame that we even have to use the keyboard rather than just the mouse.

Thanks for everything you've done so far. I am really impressed.

hi cgrymala

thanks for the report and welcome to boxee..:)

I agree with some of your points(we will look into this in the future) ,boxee (is great on the big screen)is intended for use with a remote control mainly, and works with keyboard too.. regarding the escape key this should always take you back to the Main Screen , you can also select the Menu button in each screen to open the side menu allowing you to enter any screen you desire.

Regarding the offline issue ..not sure what you mean you have option to exit or suspend .
