I work in the television industry and I'm worried that Boxee is being positioned as a threat to cable and/or online services like Hulu so early in its lifespan. I don't see it this way at all. Boxee is facilitating the lawful consumption of media, promoting its existence and providing a convenient outlet to get that material back to the television set...WITHOUT interfering with the advertising that pays for these services.

so I noticed that in the photo, the tv is hooked up to an ATV, and the netflix channel appears on the screen...

from the Known Issues for the version they most likely used for that article.


netflix might show under atv, but it will not work

Its very cool that Boxee is getting this sort of recognition--especially when you consider that it is still in alpha stage.

three months ago, Web developers in North Carolina created a special program to allow people to put Boxee on their Apple TV boxes

I am NOT a web developer and I did talk to this guy before the article was posted. This just really annoys me when reporters do not get the details correct.
