Plex just announced the capability (http://elan.plexapp.com/2011/10/28/introducing-myplex/). The iPad app is a great gateway but is effectively useless if you can't access your content outside of the home.

Please tell me this is going to be baked in soon...

I love AirVideo, have been using it for a long time now with my iPad to access my media remotely. And I love using my Boxee Box in front of my big screen TV. One thing I wished AirVideo had was an awesome interface like Boxee (with cover art, media info), with a strong server side media manager. Plex released that exact product. It still has a few kinks, but it works just as I had wished for all this time with the Boxee iPad app.

what are the specs of your computer running airvideo?
On my mediacenter I have with an atom processor, it takes years to encode a video to work :(

It's a pretty hefty box (and the reason why all my streaming software/services are installed there) -- AMD quad core 2.2ghz with a GPU that gets utilized for hardware acceleration. However, the Boxee Media Manager is also transcoding and even worse, doesn't make use of hardware acceleration.
