So I have an airport express to wireless pipe music to another room and I use airfoil to output the audio from various programs (otherwise your stuck using itunes). I tried setting boxee as the audio source and it didn't work. Are there separate audio sources within boxee that handle the different types of content (last.fm, netflix) or is there a specific source that boxee uses that I should set?

i've also tried the airport express audio routing to no avail. any ideas?
i saw that boxee has prefs that allow you to delay the video/audio sync, which after using programs like VLC etc would seem to imply that maybe there's some means of actually getting this to work. eh?

it's a real bummer too b/c I like to listen to a lot of podcasts via boxee. Without airfoil support (or at least an idea as to what the audio is playing through) I am forced to revert to itunes.

Actually, you can send boxee via Airfoil. Choose Settings > System > Audio Hardware. For "Audio Output Device" choose "Soundflower (2ch)." That sends it to Airfoil. It's a little flaky, and I get better results selecting "System Audio" in airfoil rather than selecting "Boxee" for the application. Hope that helps.
The downside is that once you've done this, you subsequently cannot send to your speakers without either running Airfoil (and using the "Computer" as a remote set of speakers), or flipping Boxee back to the built in audio output.
Not sure why this is the only application that doesn't just work, but at least it's something.
