Hi,
I can't use the Cmd-Q to quit Boxee when it becomes unresponsive. I can still move with the remote but can't quit when I choose the "power" menu - it just ignores me.
Also, Boxee took over the "menu" button of my remote. Where do I change this setting?
Thanks,
Miki

Hi miki
welcome to boxee
the problem is probably caused by the "boxeeservice" which in general is a process responsible for remote input.
by default it always runs so that pressing "menu" on the apple remote will launch boxee (maybe not the best default).
to change this behavior - run boxee and go to settings->system->apple remote.
uncheck "always running". you can even "disable" the remote completely if all you do is use the keyboard.
after that boxee will only grab input when it is running and when it is not running - there should be no problem with your other applications.
regarding the other issues boxee come unreponsive (what actions were taken? which screen were you in ?etc)

This happens either at the log-in screen or the first screen. I press 'Exit' but the system ignores me.

When you select "Exit" you do not see the option at the top of the screen "Suspend or Exit" buttons.

sometimes when you select exit it can take up to 20 secs (usually around 7-8 secs)and feel unresponsive as boxee is closing network threads, however if this is taking longer for example 40 +seconds then pm your debug logs (http://forum.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=377)
