I want to upload files to my aTV. i have been reading the forums for days now, and i cannot find a straight answer. do i have to install an ssh patch to the aTV with the usb patch stick or do i have to pull the hdd out of the appleTV to be able to utilize file transfer. all i would like to do it upload movies to the appke TV so i dont have to stream them over the network.

either would work... but i would personally use ssh.
