I have loaded BMM onto my PC (running windows 7). I then found the movies on my PC via the BMM selcetion on my Boxee Box. However, they buffer every 10 to 20 seconds or so so pretty much unwatchable. The files were 720p MKVs and my Boxee Box is connected to my network vioa ethernet cable over a network plug. Any ideas on how to improve things. BY the way, I had to use the BMM to stream my movies from the PC as I cannot seem to find the files any other way.

Many thanks

What CPU does the computer have where you installed BMM? I expect it is underpowered.

If you can't add folders from your PC via Windows Network (SMB) on the Boxee Box, try the following on your PC:

Open "Administrative Tools" > "Local Security Policy"
Browse to "Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options"
Change the value of "Network security: LAN Manager authentication level" from
"Send NTLMv2 response only" to
"Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated"

You may need to reboot the PC and Boxee Box for this to work -- it might not work but is worth trying.

It is quite an old laptop with a Intel Dual Coare T2390 1.86Ghz processor. Do you think this is the issue

Yes I do. BMM is pretty CPU intensive and can use 95% or more of all my cores on a quadcore AMD Phenom @ 2.2GHz.
