Well I'm positive it's boxee causing the issue on some of my programs because when I uninstalled it and restarted the functionality of my programs was restored. Basically what happens is that programs such as sixtyforce and online flash games won't recognize any keystrokes for movement and options. So I'm sorry to say that until I can use boxee without this issue happening, I won't be using boxee at all for now.

hi buoptip and thanks for this report.
the problem is probably caused by the "boxeeservice" which in general is a process responsible for remote input.
by default it always runs so that pressing "menu" on the apple remote will launch boxee (maybe not the best default).

to change this behavior - run boxee and go to settings->system->apple remote.
uncheck "always running". you can even "disable" the remote completely if all you do is use the keyboard.

after that boxee will only grab input when it is running and when it is not running - there should be no problem with your other applications.

thanks again for this report.

Hi buoptip

If you want to play your flash games (using the keystrokes)as well as simultaneously having boxee running(using just the keyboard) you will need to disable the remote completely (Settings->System->remote >Mode ).

This will completely disable the apple remote allowing control only with keyboard for boxee. If you want to use boxee later on with the remote just simply enable the remote once again (Settings->System->remote >Mode)

enjoy
