picasa and flickr only show your public folders you just need "add contact" and enter your user in the picasa and flickr application(Pictures>Internet)

marcel, I believe he is refering to the fact that n Flickr, you can make some of your photos / sets private. Only viewable to yourself. In order to view these pictures, you have to sign into your account.
I've seen applications offer such functionality.
+1 for having Flickr sign in functionality.

- just wanted to add that also goes for Picasa... I would need the ability to login to view my "private" albums...

Yes. If I well remember in the previous version of Boxee when you opened the picasa (or flickr) application you saw your private albums. Actually if you open a picasa (flickr) application you can only add a contact. If you add yourself to contacts you see only your public albums.
Moreover, I don't find the place to put my userName and Password to log into Picasa (flickr). In the previous version under "Application Settings -> Picasa (flickr) " you had the possibility to put your credentials.
So the question is: How can I see my Picasa (Flickr) private Albums (folders) ?
Thanks

I'm looking for the same answer. I've searched, but the thread I find is this one with no activity since Dec 2008.
Any updates?

Hello
I don't suppose there's been any update on being able to see private albums?
Thanks

No, you cannot log into picasa or flickr and see your private albums. No update to enable this has been announced as of yet. ;)

Although I have not spent much time with this, the Flickr and Picasa apps actually do both work, although maybe not exactly the way they should. With Flickr you CAN view your private albums. With Picasa, however, you CANNOT. :(
For Flickr:
All you have to do is to upload photos(as private if you wish) to your Flickr account, then pair your account with Boxee on the Services page (http://www.boxee.tv/services) online. In Boxee click on the Flickr app and it will show your private Flickr photostreams in Boxee. Photostreams, Photosets and Favorites all work! And, afaik so do the Contacts, Search and Interestingness functions.

After logging into the Boxee website I can see "services" eligible for authorization. Flickr is among them, but nothing for Google Picasa. I'm guessing it would have to appear there to access private/unlisted photos.
I guess we just have to hope they add it as a service.
