Hi, I've been starting to dive into the world of Boxee just yesterday. It looks very good but I have a few issues with it that I've seen reported here on the forums, mostly slow scan times for media, problems with smb-drive (greyed out recognize) and slow indexing of music albums (id3 tags ftw).

But what bugs me the most since I'm running boxee from my laptop which I use most of the time for other stuff than xmbc (shocker!) is that when ever I relaunch Boxee it seems like it starts indexing the media from the sources from scratch.

If this is the case and every time time I launch boxee and it has to index my media from network drives again (and i have to "fix" its findings) it starts to be a quite cumbersome to use (especially if indexing all media can take "one full day").

So, does boxee cache the information somewhere, and how can i make sure that it remembers the info?

Also, I have a few movies in two parts, moviename_cd1.avi and moviename_cd2.avi, any way for boxee recognize these as parts of the same movie automatically?

if you leave it to index it will sort itself out.

This just adds to stuff it discovered already so if you are saying your system forgets the media and starts again every time then maybe you are not letting it complete properly.

I have stuff on a share (which makes directory stuff slower) and I need to index each time. Try erasing your library (maybe its corrupt) and starting again

Yes, finally the scan completed and now the library entries "pop up" when the volume is mounted.

Thanks.

Boxee should recognize a 2 part movie just as longs as you name the files as:

xxxx.part1.xxx

or

xxxx.cd1.xxx
