Icon shows for 3 second and disappear:

Last few lines of log file indicates that file English/keyboardmap.xml is missing. Where can I find it?

what is your setup? (hardware, gfx drivers)

How can I find out about my setup?
I have Compaq Presario 2100 running ubunto 8.04
The video card is Radeon Mobility U1 [1002:4336] but I am not sure if I got the correct driver

Hi Gilad

Please pm /tmp/xbmc.log. also please also include output from glxinfo.

Hi Marcel,
I already visited the threads you mentioned, and also visited
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowto/ATI
but still not sure what is the proper ATI driver I should be using.

when running lspci I get Radeon Mobility U1 [1002:4336]
but I am not sure if that is an X series (I suspect it is 4X)

When I run glxinfo from a terminal I get "direct rendering: No " when I start xterm and invoke he same command I get "direct rendering: Yes"

hi gilad,

the mobility 1u is unsupported. our minimal requirements include an opengl 1.4 compatible card. according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_ATI_graphics_processing_units, your card is an open gl 1.3. also, considering its circa 6 years old, even if it was ogl 1.4, i doubt it would have provided an enjoyable experience under boxee.
