Ok, so Directv finally got with the program and HBOGO now works for Directv subs. However, the way you have to do it with Directv is, since there is no internet system associated with them(thus no way for HBO to check your coming thru a valid system), when you log in, you actually open a second window that has you log into your Directv account. Once you do that, your HBOGO account is associated with that Directv account and it logs you in.

However, with the Boxee browser, after pressing the login button, you get the little spinning wheel, then the login button in the upper right goes grey for a second, like it is going to log you in, but then it just drops you right back to the HBOGO site, WITHOUT being logged in. It just won't log you in.

I know browser enhancements are coming, but what I'd like to ask is if someone in the beta that has Directv, can test this out in the beta firmware to see if it does work and if it doesn't work, put in a Jira ticket in the beta site. Obviously I won't know if someone did because they can't say, but hopefully someone, maybe even a dev will try this and see if it is fixed for the new firmware.

Thanx

It would be interesting to see the log on that one. https/login was fixed a while ago, so I'm not certain of the issue.

Chuck,

It may be with the way Boxee Box handles cookies. The way HBO Go works is the same for everyone. You need to log into your Cable Co's site then it brings you back to the HBOGO site. Whatever cookies it sets are lost as the site does not register the key or cookie when you log in. I actually jsut tried this today as previously there were other issues with the site loading. All we can do is hope this will be fixed with the upcoming browser updates. Otherwise we may need to open a JIRA ticket.

Of course Ive always hoped one day we'd just get an app for HBOGO, Showtime Anywhere, Vutopia\EPIX, ect. ;)
