You can find a lot of remote extenders (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=remote+extender&x=0&y=0) on Amazon, starting around $30. This one (http://www.amazon.com/Next-Generation-Remote-Control-Extender/dp/B000C1Z0HA/) costs $34 and has a lot of positive reviews. It apparently works by replacing one of the batteries in your remote, which acts as a transmitter to the UFO-shaped base station. It sounds very strange, but all the reviews seem to agree that it works. If you get one I'd love to know how well it works for you.
