Hi Guys, my first post. Let me start off by saying that Boxee is the best. You saved me from having to buy a Vista machine for media center.

There is one thing that i would really like if you could add. On the mac you can record tv off of HD cable boxes using the firewire port. (completely legal) One problem is you are forced to save the data to the hardrive before you can watch it.

Luckily boxee is like VLC where you can start the recording outside of Boxee (in irecord of avc cap) and just click on the file and start watching live tv. (delayed by about 20 seconds) What i was Hoping you could do is integrate ether the avc cap from the apple firewire sdk or something similar to irecord into boxee with one addition.

Have it set to record a 100mb buffer to the ram so you can actually watch live tv without it eating up your hardrive space. then if the user wants to record it they can choose to from within boxee, and if they just want to watch live tv they dont have to leave.

Its a thought but it is a way to get un-encrypted channels through a cable box, and record your HD content.

If you have any question feel free to ask, and if you already have something like this planned, thats great let me know.

(oh if im repeating someone's post im sorry i didnt see anything that talked about firewire)
