This is probably related to "boxee stealing mac remote?", but after I installed boxee and got it running, my keyboard stopped working in vmware fusion. Uninstalling boxee and killing the boxee process seemed to fix this. I will try reinstalling and doing the "remote always running" fix tonight

all your input devices are belong to us! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_your_base_are_belong_to_us)

can you please be more specific - is vmware running boxee? or is the host running boxee?

if the latter, i have the same setup and it works fine. not aware of anything in boxee that should cause this. pls let us know if reinstall causes the issue again before trying to change anything.

mac osx 10.5.4 running vmware fusion 1.1.3.

installed boxee 0.9.2908 pkg. Before boxee was reinstalled, my keyboard worked in a vmware running windows xp. After boxee was reinstalled, I just get a sound when I try to use my keyboard in the vmware windows window. The mouse works in vmware. The keyboard seems to work fine in os x

I use vmware all the time (for work), so unfortunately I need to uninstall boxee until this is fixed. (Please fix soon!)

this is confirmed as the issue @doostango pointed out to. will look at resolving it.

workaround:

under boxee settings > system > remote and toggle always enabled.

this will cause boxeeservice, the remote handler, to activate only when boxee is running. you will lose ability to launch boxee by double clicking remote menu, but will regain keyboard access under vmware, and assorted adobe applications also afflicted by this issue.
