Since the new Linux/Apple version has been released will a new Windows version be coming out this week? In general is the plan to have coordinated releases on all platforms or will they always be released on different schedules?

I noticed that the security on http://dl.boxee.tv was tightened up. This must be a sure sign of progress toward another release! :)

I'm starting to lose hope that I will see boxee on windows. I've signed up and even been told I was accepted in a PM from the moderator but have no idea hos to get the package.

I spent about an hour the other day trying to get everything working to compile boxee on Windows under VS2008 and realized how many more steps were going to be necessary to make it work. Couldn't find my old VS2k3 media to use the built-in build files. Oh well. I'll just have to keep using Windows Explorer as my media center until they open up the alpha a bit wider...

our small contribution to the holiday season is that by Dec 25th we’ll try to clear the entire backlog of invites (with the exception of Windows users) and get ready to open it up completely on Jan 8th.

I'm new here. I was told about Boxee by a friend a few weeks back, and I signed up for the alpha invite. I just got that and was excited to download for Windows, when I found out that I can only download for Linux or Apple TV :(

Now, I'm gathering from this forum that the Windows version is a separate alpha that I cannot even sign up for? I'm hoping this is just my misunderstanding. Could anyone in the know please enlighten me? Thanks in advance!

The question is whether any of the folks on the second Windows Boxee alpha signup will be seeing a link before Christmas.

If not, sounds like 2009 for Windows users.

I think they're taking names for the 3rd Alpha group before Christmas. But I don't think it will open before Christmas.
