Various Issues

Boxee worked fine the first time after Hardy install. However, the second attempted log-in failed and Ubuntu had to be restarted for Boxee to work again. This behavior continued after every reboot. There was also an intermittent issue where the correct password was not accepted after repeated attempts. The TAB toggle between full screen and non-full screen modes worked intermittently. At one point in full screen mode, I no longer had control of keyboard. That's about all I recall from my first night's use of Boxee. When it worked, it was great!

please make sure you have network connectivity when trying to connect. open a browser, go to app.boxee.tv.

the Tab not working is probably an issue with compiz being active. under ubuntu, system > preferences > appearance > visual effects, set to none.

let me know if you still have the keyboard issue.

I set visual effects to normal and it seems to work better. Network connectivity was not an issue and the password issue I reported has not reappeared. I can even restart the program after closing it with no issues. Seems to be working okay overall but I don't know what "fixed" the other issues unrelated to Tab-full screen. Thanks for your help.

if you use "normal" you may still encounter issues. set to "none" for optimal performance. you may specifically encounter issues if you are moving from boxee to desktop and back if you leave compiz working at any level.
