I really need help from any video people out there.
I have about 13 .dv files that I want to convert to smaller files for viewing on the tv via boxee, what is a good format to convert to? I was thinking mp4 at like 5 mbps, does that sound about right? The quality of 11 of the files were from old hi-8 tapes so the quality isnt that great to begin with and want to preserve all the quality i do have which as i said isnt much, alot of footage is noisy/snowy , also they are all shot in 4:3, 640 by 480, i am wandering if i should convert them to 16:9 mp4's since my tv is widescreen or leave at 4:3? they will be viewed via boxee on a mac mini, 60 inch hdtv.
