Pretty useless for me as i can't use a secondary display. I'm sure the kinks will be worked out though.

In short:
TV shows issue (see other threads) : Nothing major. Erase library. Done. It's gonna take a couple days before everything is recognized again :( In the meantime I'll browse my files :)
Desktops Option: Nice and very welcome.
New Internet Channels: Keep 'm coming!
Apple Trailer resolution: Available when selecting a trailer. Positioning of the info and logos are a bit off.
New logo for a folder : It's better than the + symbol of the previous version.
Interface: it all seems a bit more responsive.
Boxee menu highlighter : it's a bit different now. A bit clearer too.
Manual before you log in: Very good idea for new users.
Mounted volumes under sources: now all under devices. Clean! Still I would like devices and add folder to be separated from the alphabetic ordering of all the other sources.
Sources has become Browse: It's a better description !
Recently Added: This keeps going grey every 2 minutes (while refresing).

Really didn' have the chance to put Boxee through the paces much last night, other than trying the NF integration (seeing the same performance issues as everyone else).
That said, all my sources and meta data were in tact and I did watch some American Dad on the bedroom install before hitting the sack, not problems there.
If anything this release is status quo for me - there are things I have fingers crossed for (Myth support for example...squeaky wheel, I know)
I'm constantly reminding myself how advanced of a pre-beta this app is... One of the tests is always the spousal acceptance factor, boxee is the first thing we've tried that passed with flying colors. The other night she said, you know it'd be nice if the menu would disappear after pause/play and I had to laugh b/c its fantastic how much Boxee has changed our entertainment experience and to have that be the one complaint is pretty remarkable.
So I am continually optimistic and this release feels like a step forward, at least under the hood if not immediately evident.

The new release shows a lot of promise. I have to keep telling myself "it's an alpha release, it's an alpha release..." when I run into problems.
I am excited about Netflix integration but I was prepared for it to have problems.
The last.fm module is still pretty clunky. I wish there was a interface similar to the last.fm sidebar where I could simply punch in an artist or song and it starts playing music. Or simply remember where I left off and start playing music (like the desk app).
Still waiting for a Pandora solution too (I am addicted to their quick collections feature). :)

not heard anything overwhelmingly positive in this release yet. Don't drop the ball team Boxee.

The alpha I had been using since Oct, was working fine, and I was
looking forward to 4 Dec. release.
I installed and trashed the update, and then started with a new install, but both times , it crashed at the 'connection' screen so many times I had to uninstall completely.........and now NO Boxee at all !
I know the Boxee team worked hard, so it's a shame !

You might want to try it again. It probably crashed at the connection screen because the servers are getting pounded with everyone trying out the new version (just a WAG mind you). I was having problems connecting (it kept complaining of a bad password) but it works fine this morning.

Now that my library is more or less re-imported Boxee has become more stable. I had like 20 crashed the last 2 days. When importing it becomes very slow and crashes a lot (all bug reports send of course). Now it seems to be doing what It should again :)
EDIT: I was wrong. It's still unstable.

wow... all the options on this poll are extremely negative... it's almost like it was intended to solicit certain results. ;)
i voted for: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Development_stage#Alpha :)

Dont be silly, it was inevitable people would be having problems with it as its an alpha. the idea was to try and be more specific about the problems and how many were affected also how many were happy.
