Settings not working?

When I click the options it brings up a set of options on the side. So far so good. Except "Settings" the last of the options doesn't seem to do anything when I click "Right" unlike the rest of the them.

Is this a bug? I'm guessing it should be behaving the same way as the rest of the options by bringing up additional menus by clicking to the right.

I'm using (X)Ubuntu 8.04.

I mentioned this in another thread. I guess they just haven't added the right stuff to it yet, it'll be fixed later.

Sometimes I wonder if I am telling them the obvious stuff they already know about, but I've not come across any documentation about known issues so I dont know. Stuff like this bug I assume they know about, but then theres stuff like the fact some of my music fails to import which worries me. :eek:

@belovedmonster - what we don't know about we try to reproduce, and enter into our bug tracking software.

@kine - please direct me to the thread. i don't remember seeing this issue.

@belovedmonster - it depends on the screen you're on. granted, it is a bug if we show 'settings' and there are none. please include a screen shot of where this happens.

For my Video, Audio and Pictures clicking the options button brings up a "Settings" side menu that doesn't do anything. However I've since found that when I instead select Internet video, internet audio and internet pictures then go into options I have a settings on the side menu that actually does something.

Note, also, one of the biggest faults I'm finding with Boxee at the moment is the inconsistent way the keyboard buttons control the GUI. When I load up the option side bar it brings up the various options with a little right pointing arrow beside each. I can press either Enter or Right on the first level of hierarchy, but then on any subsequent menus with the same right pointing arrows only Enter works.

Eg.

Options [Enter], Settings [Right or Enter], Bliptv [Enter]

As Settings and Blip.TV have the same little right face arrows you would expect that if you can press Right on 'Settings' that you could press Right on 'Blip.TV' but this doesn't work.

Hope this makes sense.

That's a good thread Kine, you seem to have pointed out many of the same issues I'm having (such as inconsistent backspace and Esc functionality) hopefully they will be fixed in the next update.

hi all,

well, as we wanted it to behave - this settings menu was supposed to be contextual and only relate to the browse pane you are currently in.
as the feature is half baked, it only supports internet plugins. the fact that it still shows up for plugins which dont have settings and even when you have no plugins in the screen is indeed a bug.
in next versions this will be fixed and even maybe changed a little to make more sense and be more accessible to the users.
