I was just wondering if you guys were planning on implementing a native photo tagging feature in Boxee?

Thus making it possible to search, and filter photos when browsing digital pictures, per person, date/year, GPS (geotag) location, or other tags, via a library view mode in the photos section, (the metadata data would be imported via the full EXIF (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EXIF) / IPTC metadata reader which XBMC already have).

This would of course require the implementation of a database for the pictures section in XBMC as well, (similar to the video and music databases).

Would be great. A search function function in any media would be great now that I think of it. Most of the times I know where my files are so I have to navigate through all the files to get too it. If it starts with an A i'm lucky if the file starts with z or w I'm in for load of scrolling. It would be great to just do a search and Boxee would just show me the file. Vice versa in other words. A search à la Spotlight (live search results) would totally amazing :)

Basically you can do two things:

Browse : boxee does this very well and with cover art a joy to behold.

or

Search for specific file : a search function would make it faster and easier for everyone and hey even the wive might be able to find the file back

It would also be very cool if Boxee could use the GPS (GeoTag) location tag in scripts/plugins. There is already a really cool Google Earth python script for XBMC called "LocateU (http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16501)" which could maybe be modified to use GeoTags ;)
