3gp video with AMR audio, does Boxee Box play those?

I have many of those videos filmed on my phone, I wonder if Boxee Box can handle the audio, PC Boxee version plays no sound for such files..

Since 3gp is listed as a supported file type (http://support.boxee.tv/entries/105013-what-file-types-and-container-formats-does-boxee-support), you should probably report the lack of audio as a bug... (http://jira.boxee.tv)

Just be aware that while the AMR format is okay for voice recordings (hence its use in mobile phones), it's pretty abysmal for other types of audio recording.

VLC (which uses a lot of the same open-source decoding libraries as Boxee) just started supporting the AMR format in version 1.1.0 (which is only a couple of months old), so perhaps that support will be rolled up into the Boxee project sometime in the future, if it hasn't been already.

Just, again, be aware that it may not be a high priority due to it being a relegated to a niche format. But I certainly can't speak for the Boxee team in this regard. That's just a guess.

It maybe abysmal but I have no choice here :) That's how my Nexus One records video, and the video quality is actually pretty good for a phone.

Bumping this, wondering if anyone CAN play 3gp from their phone and get audio? I get video only (using dec 13 firmware).

fascinating, i just fixed all the audio issues and the last 3gp one i have is video not displaying for vids recorded from an evo. we play even 8khz mono amr..

in general if audio or video don't work it's a bug.
