Probobly not much we can do about but there is one very annoying thing about the remote control. There is no light on it. Sometimes i want to do things in the night and i have to use my phone to light up the remote control.
It would be great if D-Link can produce a remote control with some light as an accesory. My remote control from my tv has this feature and it's very helpfull sometimes!
Let's hope more people agree and this will be taken into consideration :)

Let's hope more people agree and this will be taken into consideration Well, there's probably at least a hundred similar comments already posted here, and it's mentioned in almost every review.
Apart from the backlight issue, which would have had at least some cost implications, and might have required a larger battery and therefore a more bulky and heavy design (which imho would have been a pity), the glaringly obvious issue is the grey on grey markings on the keys, which is plain daft. Or not very plain, if you see what I mean.
It's hard to understand how anyone could have thought that was a good idea, given that there would appear to have been no cost implication in making the markings a brighter colour and thus legible at least in typical domestic lighting.
(I was brought up to believe that TVs should not be watched in total darkness for fear of eyestrain, coupled with the danger of stepping on the cat when coming in with your coffee).
I have a Rii remote which works well with the Boxee, and although its keyboard is backlit, I'm not often aware of that because it's so clearly marked in the first place with bright white letters.

Ditto that. I also have the rii Mini Keyboard. Combined with a Harmony One remote, it's the perfect setup for me. The rii keyboard is infinitely better than the keyboard on the backside of the boxee remote. The laser is an added bonus that drives the kitten nuts. :D

The laser is an added bonus that drives the kitten nuts.(Our dogs love chasing laser dots round the house but no way would I use the Rii keyboard laser for that. Else every time I picked up the keyboard for its normal purpose, the dogs would think, "hey, playtime!!" and any TV watching would be impossible).
The Rii mini keyboard (wireless version, not bluetooth) really is the remote that Boxee should have bundled with the Box - with the caveat that the Boxee concept of a simple side and a more complex side is functionally a good one, and the light weight allows it to be popped in a shirt pocket and used in another room if you have speakers through the house.

There are also some good Apps on Android and Iphone that can serve as remotes for boxee...I always have my phone on me anyways so it saves me from having to find my remote!

Would you mind expanding on this please. I would be particularly interested in your experiences with android remote apps.

I also find the iPhone app better than the standard remote so I use that most times.
