Sorting improvements needed!

Currently there's only two sort options for local files: A-Z or "Date", and they don't save from folder to folder. This is REALLY inconvenient.

I have one local folder that I've ripped all my DVD's to and I'd love for that to stay sorted A-Z. I then have a "New Downloads" folder that' I'd love to sort by date DESCENDING.

So:
1. Currently there's no way to sort a folder with the new files on top.
2. No way to save sort preferences between folders
3. No way to sort the "my tv" list (as far as I can tell) with the shows with new episodes on top.

Adding / fixing those things would make the boxee experience much better for me!

So:

Sorting the entire TV or Movie section by Recently Added does bring TV Shows with newly added local episodes to the top position and Movies to the top position.

Sorting between folders? Well in the movie or TV section there are no folders. Everything is all in one group. Now, if you go to files and look at individual folders as you have set up, you can sort by Date...but it's currently set up as Oldest at the top.:(.

TV shows (similar to first paragraph) can be sorted two ways. You can sort all TV shows by Recently Added, which will bring to the top shows with new local files added. Then once you open a specific show, you can sort again from Newest (episode) first, not recently added.

Seems there are some improvements coming in the Jira link the OP'er gave. :cool:
