8.10? or are you referring to the last refresh not being offered for linux?
i'm sure the team won't skip us on a big update.
same thing happened last dev-cycle:
they did a feature-release release for mac and linux,
then a mac-only refresh (bugs only)
then another feature alpha for both platforms. (this was the oct 20th release)

Can't wait.. It's been working great on linux but I'm really excited about trying it on windows. At the rate boxee is going it will revolutionize the way we watch TV. I need to save this post so i can tell all of my doubtful friends, I told you so, once the boxee revolution is in full swing..;)

Well it was 8 am (EST) - lets take a guess with what they will be adding today!
Here's my 2 - ABC and Joost!

I'd certainly hope for ABC (and if they add ABC, presumably CW as well), but there's a bit of an issue with supporting across all platforms.
From the neuros forums:
Unfortunately, there's a little more to it than that. CW and ABC and a handful of others use a service called move networks (http://www.movenetworks.com/) the solution is using windows firefox on wine and installing the move networks plug-in, however it's not working exactly right yet. We're working on it, this is obviously a top priority. We'll hopefully have a patch for this shortly. Hopefully move will support Linux natively as well, we're in contact with them on solving this issue, I'm sure it can only help if you contact them as well and ask: http://www.movenetworks.com/company/contactus
Mac and Windows would be doable, but I'd presume that appletv and linuix might be a good bit harder... Maybe not though! :)

i doubt any new services will be added, today.
the team just did that poll, and this release was planned well in advance of the poll.
i don't think we'll see the new services before the year's end... but, historically, i'm wrong about mostly everything. :)

Looks like if they cracked this one this would add a ton of new content - minus Oprah though - don't want the misses stealing my appletv! :D

initially we planned for a bug fixing/polish release, but as usual we got a bit over excited and squeezed in a bunch of new stuff…

* a new Hulu – looks more like hulu.com, enables you to login (so you can get your Hulu Queue), works faster, and playback should be greatly improved on Apple TV
* a new YouTube – new look, as well as higher quality video playback. some of these YouTube clips look pretty good on your 46” LCD
* a new CNN, Flickr, Picasa and Apple Movie Trailers – we’ve re-written all of these plug-ins to work faster and look better
* Boston Globe’s The Big Picture – it’s a great photo-blog, which we really like, and thought could be pretty cool in a 10-foot experience. if you’ll like it we could bring much more of these type of services (let us know!)
* integration with MTV Music – when you click on an album you’ll see a new option to let you watch music videos of the artist. check it out. MTV said they can give us higher quality videos, and we have a few more ideas for providing a great music video experience on boxee
* theWB – on our quest to bring more TV content to boxee theWB is the latest addition. it means shows like Buffy, Babylon5, Firefly, One Tree Hill and The O.C. are now available on boxee

use punctuation!
to clear up, if we wern't able to post in the windows alpha signup that means we won't be eligable to get it when it's released today? my though was that the sign up a few weeks ago got a pre alpha and the full alpha would come out today... if thats not the case than i'll just have to wait for it on torrent.
funny thing is this is the only program i can think of where i want it on pc and not for mac just due to how my living room is set up... i've been ripping media to my pc like mad for today!

The windows pre-alpha starts today; alpha is in early 2009 I believe.

Totally looking forward to boxee for windows. I've been using it in linux, but not being able to access my instant cue on netflix was killing me! So far it's an awesome piece of software and i can only see it getting better.

I applaud the team for all of their hard work. Adding Netflix is fantastic.
I hope one day they can get Netflix working on Apple TV as that is the holy grail for me. I understand the difficulties and appreciate their effort at this difficult task.
Bravo guys, thanks for everything!

Any movement with Move Networks? I just canceled cable and the thought of being able to watch ABC.com/ESPN/etc via Boxee is very appealing. :)
