Here is a strange issue I am having. When I load up boxee, I get all the menu sounds (clicking from changing menus and what)
If I try to watch a video, be it youtube or one from my hdd I get video but no audio. Even more strange is that the menu sounds are gone aswell.
I watched a trailer, waited for it to finish, and then tried going in the menu again, and still no sound.
Any suggestions?

sorry should have included that.
I am running Ubuntu. I have both analog and digital connected to my receiver. Digital on video 1 and analog on video 2 just so I can test both.
6-channel AC’97 (Realtek ALC650E) using PulseAudio

wait, is there a way to use PulseAudio instead of Alsa for movies/music? alsa doesn't work with my soundcard, and I notice in another thread that you strictly use that.
Should I remove pulseaudio and alsa and try using oss instead?

What should default audio device and passthrough be set at? I've tried default,iec958 and neither work. Both analog and digital.
Boxee is showing up in PulseAudio's control panel, bit now I don't get the menu beeps or video sound. Any tips?

you've tried the correct settings (default, iec958).
is your alsa setup to run via pulse (via asound.rc)? did you try the link from my previous post on the subject?
