Yes, that's the rii Mini keyboard, which has been reported to work by a few different people. I ordered one about a week ago - it's probably sitting at my front door, waiting fomr some passer-by to pickup. :D Hopefully it's still there when I get home.

It works like a charm - I've been using one for a few months on the Boxee App - and the BBox

There have been reviews on amazon that mention problems like line of sight (RF ? What line of sight? that one confused me.) , poor range , keys that do not register when pressed and even people are talking about poor battery performance.

Did you experience any of these problems, especially the poor range and battery problems.

I want to have the official boxee remote but I am even not sure if they will release it in near future, so maybe I should invest my money on this little guy since I need a keyboard.

Thank you for your input! and time.

Line of sight issues with an RF remote , WTH?? - I'd discard that review's credibility, for sure! - unless the dongle is behind or in something made of metal

I can recommend the Rii (or whatever name it's retailed as) with confidence

I'm not constantly tapping on keys all evening with it, but it never skips a keystroke - I think I've only charged it twice since the initial charge - it has a auto-sleep mode that shuts the back lites off in a short time of non-use - and shuts the whole remote down too - but tapping on a key brings it back to life right away - the back lite has a dedicated key, so you won't accidentally turn it on all the time

It has substantial wieght to it, which gives it the feel of quality - probably due to the rechargeable battery

I can't speak for the range it offers - I use it in an average sized room without problems -- I have it's dongle plugged into a 7 port USB Hub, which allow the user to adjust where the dongle it positioned - as apposed to plugging it into the BBox and maybe behind something and out of sight where it's possible to interfere/block its' signal

btw - the BBox remote is available - and at Amazon too - I like the BBox remote and use it exclusively in the daytime - but switch to the Rii when I settle down for the evening to watch something in a dim/dark room

Thanks for clearing the issue for me : )

Now this remote is definitely in my shopping list, but I am wondering as you said
the original remote is already on sale at amazon.com, are we talking about the remote listed under the name DSM-22 ?, more clearly :

http://www.amazon.com/D-Link-DSM-22-Boxee-Box-Remote/dp/B00480OSVK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1290965594&sr=8-1

BTW, I will be using the remote on my HTPC, so I guess, I mean just to be sure :) this is the remote suppose to work on PC's ?

If you are using the remote for the Boxee App on a PC then I don't believe the Boxee remote will work - it doesn't come with a dongle - the BBox has the RF receiver built into it, so I guess D-Link has designed it to function with the BBox

The Rii will work with either the PC Boxee or the BBox

Another nice remote for either scenario is the Lenovo N5901 - it uses a track ball - but is not backlit
