I want to customize the apps that show up.

I want to remove some and add some new ones. With the updated software I can't figure out how to go about it.

I also want to change the 3 apps on the home screen since I won't use any of them at all.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

It's not possible to change what shows up on the home screen.

You can customize what shows up on the Apps>>Favorites screen, however.

To remove Apps frome the Apps>>Favorites:
1) From the Home Screen, press "menu" on the remote
2) Navigate to Apps>>Favorites
3) Select the App you want to remove
4) From the popup, navigate to the Remove in the upper right (click "right" on the remote)
5) Click "ok/select" on the remote

The App is removed from the Favorites screen

To add Apps to the Favorites screen (from popular apps):
1) From the Home screen, click on Apps (or navigate to any of the other App screens, "All", "Categories", "Most Recently Added")
2) Select the App you want to add to your Favorite Apps screen
3) From the popup, navigate to Favorite in the upper right (click "right" on the remote)
5) Click "ok/select" on the remote

The App will now show up on the App>>Favorites Screen

This just verifies that the home screen is no longer a smart feature in the UI. They dumbed it down to be absolutely useless. Please bring back old features for the home screen!

Well, it wasn't possible to change the Home Screen in beta either without modifying XML files; if you want to go that route on the Boxee Box I believe it's already possible :) (though I haven't tried it myself).

But it's not clear that modifying XML files is what the OP was asking for either.

They need to add the ability to choose what section of the screens to start on. It seems pretty obvious most people would want to start on their "Favorites" and then if they want something new, drill down from there.

I agree with that, especially as Apps > All doesn't show apps you have added from a third-party repository (so it isn't really "All" actually) and they will only show up under Favorites (assuming you have added them to the Favorites list) or under the repository in question.
