boxeebox not displaying embedded subtitles in mkv files

One of the biggest reasons I got a boxeebox was because it was touted as supporting mkvs and embedded subtitle files.

Nearly every single mkv I have played with embedded subtitles plays with NO subtitles displayed on-screen, even though the subtitle track is set to display by default. Manually disabling and then re-enabling the subtitles makes zero difference.

Anyone else experiencing this issue? If so, this is a pretty glaring bug.

yeah, there's a couple threads about this.

thing is that ssa/ass are listed in their launch announcement (http://blog.boxee.tv/2010/11/10/boxee-box-starts-shipping-new-boxee-version-netflix-and-hulu-plus-too/).

hopefully there will be an update soon.

i posted this in another thread (there's a few about subs not showing up in mkvs)

i noticed that if you have the overscan settings to anything but 0% the subs will not show up.

try changing overscan to 0% and you should be able to see embedded subs... (this is a bug that i hope will be fixed promptly)
