A lot of these movies show up as online content. can anyone play them?
None of them work for me, they give a message saying:
"sorry, this movie is not available in your territory"
Are they blocking boxee, or Canada? I suspect boxee since I can play the movies fine if I try from my laptop.
ie. Can anyone play the movie 'Shiftling" ?

Tried it, and it was blocked in Boxee, but played fine in Firefox on the very same machine. So it would appear that they're not blocking by location but that they're blocking Boxee.

Guys, we are def not blocking. Unless you enable it, all content not available in your area (blocked) shouldn't show in your movie list. So if your seeing it and the option isn't enabled in settings to show all content, then boxee thinks you should have access.
We'll contact those guys and see if we can figure out whats going on.

Hi,
I'm from IndieMovies. Sorry you are having this issue. So you know there is no blocking, you should be able to watch this film. Can you let me know a few things.
1. have you downloaded our app? is it the same in the app as the boxee film list? - I imagine it would be, but this will help
2. is it all films you are having problems with, or only some? - can you list them
We're looking into this, we'll get back to you.
thanks.

I've noticed exactly the same thing with these movies. The movies play fine on my browser but will not play on boxee. I have tried several of these and all say that the content is blocked in my area. I live in Canada as well. I can try a few today and get back to you if you need specific movie titles.

If you can give me title names that would help. one thing, does this happen on EVERY film, or only some. ie. are you about to watch some films through Boxee, or none?
As I say, there is no additional blocking. Some titles are geo-blocked, but if you can watch it online, you should be able to watch through Boxee. More importantly, if you can see the title, you should be able to watch it, as the results should be filtered to show you only those that are available in your country.
thanks

Hi,
I tried multiple movies and all seem blocked on boxee box. I did not use a specific app, they must have it built in as a channel/source since the movies all show up by default. I can play all the movies if I go directly to the website on my laptop. I am in Toronto, Canada.

Thanks for the reply. ok, one more question. when you try and play a film through boxee do you get a message saying the film is unavailable in your territory, or just a black screen or some other error message?
thanks
