I just want to say that I love my new Boxee box. There are a lot of posts on here complaining about features missing or broken. I just want to say how impressed I am with a version 1 product.
I came on here looking to see if someone had come up with a workaround for the black box on videos from fancast. Its a minor irritant and I'm sure there will be some sort of fix soon.
What I was surprised to read were all the posts complaining. I have had no problems connecting to my Netgear NAS storage. I was able to get on my network in seconds. The remote works very well.
Yeah the new interface was a surprise, but not horrible. I'm a little surprised that Boxee would roll out a new interface in addition to new hardware -- that seems a little too ambitious. But hey! If they're willing to take risks then I applaud them!
I've been using Boxee on a Ubuntu machine for a year and the best thing I can say about Boxee is that it is always getting tweaks and improvements. I have faith that this thing is going to be an even better product by the end of the year than it is now. I understand that being an early adopter of technology means that I will have to put up with bugs and challenges.
I love my Boxee Box and I love the Boxee team for bringing us a neat little toy.
