I got my Seagate 3TB hard drive to work on the Boxee (software v.0.9.21.14131, stock). I downloaded the free version of Paragon Partition Manager 11 and formatted the drive as Mac HFS+. I have a Windows 7 machine so I installed MacDrive to access it.
If someone knows a way to remove the "New Version available" message without setting up a proxy please PM me.

After reading the other post that someone was able to the get BB recognizes the 3TB seagate drive using Paragon Parition Manager 11 to format his drive in HFS+.
At first, I have tried with my mac using Disk Utility to format it as 1 partition 3TB drive in HFS+ non journaled, but it still doesn't recognized by BB. I have then noticed that under the volume scheme, there is an Options button where you can select whether to use GUID (default option, for intel based mac) and the other one is Apple Partition. I have then tried with Apple Partition mapping instead, now it gets recognized by BB...
Hope this helps... a temporary fix... until Boxee releases the supposed fix in the firmware 1.5???
