Ok, I have tried everything I even called support but that was no help. The .MKV files are not showing up on my BB when I am streaming it through my Windows 7 PC. I can see all my other files but .MKV are missing from my folder.
Whats funny is when I connect my Hard Drive directly to the BB I see .MKV files. Anyone having the same problem?
So far, very disappointe with the BB. I will be returning it if problems can't be solved.

This very strange ..Did you add this folder as a media share? Is it being resolved? Is this a specific MKV or all your MKV's? Are you viewing via your file browse option?

There were a few saying that on Win-7 with Windows Live installed that there was trouble connecting (not just boxee but other programs in general) to the share l, but nothing about connecting and not seeing certain file types.
I'll have to put some of my MKV's on my Win-7 box and see what I get, though I do not run Windows Live on it.

I understand that windows live has caused a lot of problems not just for Boxee but other applications it is recommended to remove it and see if that helps

OK, I just added two .mkv videos to my Win-7 Video samba share in boxee:
Ramona and Beezus (2010)
Charlie St. Cloud (2010)
Both scanned & indexed in under 3 minutes. Both the thumb, info and play perfectly in Boxee. I do not have Windows Live on my machine.
Remember, in Boxee, when you browse to the folder where the movie files live, you won't see the individual movie files! The folder will appear blank if it's full of .mkv .avi or any file type. Just add it anyway. I'm thinking this is what you may be encountering with files not showing up. Example below is my Win-7 Share with three .mkv files in it and you can't see them, but they are indexed in boxee! ;)
This will also apply to ANY share with movies in it. You can see the folders but not the actual media files in this view.

Ok, I have uninstalled the Windows Live Essentials but still the same problem.
When I look at my BB and goto the settings to add files the BB shows me
-computer name (Samba)
-UPnP
If I click on my computer it asks for my username and pswd but I do not have a pswd and won't let me log in.
but if I click on UPnP I can see all my files except for .MKV files?
I want to love my BB please help? :-(

i "believe" this is happening because the UPNP source you see is created because of media sharing\windows media player... so only files that it deems as real video files will be shown and MKV isn't one of them.
you need to be able to connect to SAMBA sources to see your mkv files...
