Gonna buy a Boxee Box this weekend. I do need to know one thing, is the 802.11n 5.0ghz compliant? or does it only support 2.4ghz? It's a fairly big deal when you live in a small NYC apartment and the amount of 2.4ghz networks around you is immense.

Thanks!

you cannot imagine some kind of device that would provide the boxee both wired ethernet and itself connect to your wireless network?

It's called a Wireless Bridge, and low-and-behold... d-link makes one of those too! It's probably around the $100.00 mark though. It will connect to your existing wifi, and has 4 ports, so you can plug your TV, XBOX, Boxee, and BluRay player all into it for instance, to make them ALL talk on your existing wireless network.

So, you are "rolling your eyes" because someone doesn't want to spend another $100 or so to buy yet-another-device to make up for one of Boxee Box's major shortcomings?

I have a 3 year old Apple TV that supports 5GHz N wireless, as does my new Apple TV.

My Boxee Box can't even keep a stable 2.4GHz connection when every other device around it can - like the Wii right next to it.

Now, it's early days yes, but still. N support in this day and age, on a device from a network-device company, should include a 5GHz radio.

Agreed. But if you want a fully stable & inteference free connection for hi-def media streaming, you should go wired / powerline.
