Okay I can see all my Samba shares (13 of them) under add source:

SERVERNAME / SHARENAME1 (Samba)
SERVERNAME / SHARENAME2 (Samba)
SERVERNAME / SHARENAME3 (Samba)
etc...

but every time I try to connect I get a "connection timed out" error after about 2 seconds of it trying to add the share. WTF?

The shares work fine to all the PCs in the house, all the XBMC machines and my Boxee HTPC.

I am using 1.0 on the BB and the machine hosting the shares is running Windows Home Server (Windows 2003).

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

cheers,

Zed

To add to my post, I disabled TVersity and restarted the Boxee Box. I was then able to add sources without it doing the 2 second "connection time out". Now if I could jsut figure out why when adding my sources it misses more then half the content when its being indexed. But indexes fine on my Boxee HTPC...weird

where do you disable TVersity?

In Windows, go to Add and Remove Programs (from your start menu in Control Panels), then select TVersity and UNINSTALL. Done.

OK, maybe you have the same prob I had until yesterday: Only disabling the firewall helped to access the shares (eventhough it was correctly configured). But as soon as I corrected the Workgroup name in BB's settings (which I just found then), it worked flawlessly also with active firewall (letting pass 445,137-139 through). Don't ask me what Workgroup has to do with Firewall, but I tested this 5 times and could reproduce it easily.
