View Full Version : XBMC Commands Missing?

So, with the new Boxee Box missing continuous scanning, I figured I'd set up a script that automatically told Boxee to scan when a new file was added to a directory. It used to be that you could access the following URL:
http://boxee:8800/xbmcCmds/xbmcHttp?command=ExecBuiltIn¶meter=XBMC.updatelibrary(video)
(Assuming that you have the host 'boxee' set up to point to your boxee installation's IP address.)
Now I just get the following error:
Error:Unknown command
Anyone know if this feature has just moved? Or has Boxee removed certain XBMC commands for some reason?

I've also tried:
http://boxee:8800/xbmcCmds/xbmcHttp?command=ExecBuiltIn%28UpdateLibrary%28vid eo%29%29
And
http://boxee:8800/xbmcCmds/xbmcHttp?command=ExecBuiltIn%28XBMC.UpdateLibrary% 28video%29%29
It seems like most of the commands listed on http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Web_Server_HTTP_API#Command_Tables _Reference don't work.

Yea, I noticed that those commands were missing, as well; 'dunno if they've been pulled, replaced, or temporarily commented out. I have a script that I was originally using with XMBC, then Plex, and finally Boxee that would send a notification that a disc rip had just completed and then issue a command to update the library. Those notifications stopped appearing when I started using the Boxee Box and the library updates are obviously not happening.

I thought Boxee removed all XBMC specific code from Boxee's API due to coding formalities. The question still remains "Can We Install XBMC on a Boxee Box?"... that's the real question at hand still.

the XBMC remote for android stopped working with the 1.0 update because of this. Now I have to have the tv on to use my boxee box to play music. thats annoying. If I can't get XBMC on here before the end of January it gonna go back. :(

one item has been removed from the scan frequency options of the 0.9 fw to the 1.0 fw "upgrade"
:(
A better idea would have been to create a menu item to allow users to control when to check with FINE grained control

I would like to see these commands come back as well, having been using them for sickbeard for a while now.

Yes, can we have a web API please. I just want something to be able to have something that works like the official XBMC android remote app.

The web remote works, you jsut cant browse your collection as you could in .9.....Believe me this was an awsome thing to see, when i was able to use it, so Id want it to, especially since ther is no official App for Android. I jsut dont see this happening....

This is mainly for listening to music during the day as I work from my home office and the boxee + audio system is in another room... With XBMC I used to just control my playlist through the phone.
