Hi,
Anyone know if its possible to connect the Harmony RF remote.
More like an extra "blaster".
I'm using the Harmony 900 remote.

This will absolutely not work. RF signals from one manufacturer are, excluding a couple of extremely rare examples I know of, are not compatible with those of a different manufacturer.
You wil be able to buy an IR receiver however and use industry-standard IR with your Boxee box. In fact I'm working on this right now.

Can I just plug in any USB IR Receiver into the Boxee box and have it work or do we have to wait for an official IR accessory from Boxee?

Boxee Box doesn't have IR port?

I do remember reading somewhere that any USB IR adapter that works with Windows Media Center would work with the Boxee box.

I can confirm that a crappy $14 MCE remote control IR adapter from amazon works great on the boxee box. It allows me to use my Harmony 880.

What device assignment do you use in the logitech software (device/manufacturer/model) for the boxee box?

Do I have to do anything special to get my IR receiver to work with Boxee? It's Media Center compatible but not specifically made for Media Center. I setup the device in the Logitech remote software as Computer, Media Center PC -> Microsoft -> Windows Media Center but can't get it to work. Am I missing a setting in Boxee or is it my IR receiver?

I did pretty much the same as you guys. If I plug first-generation MCE remote into my computer, it works fine. It doesn't work at all with the Boxee Box, though.

Would be nice if there was an adapter for the Harmony remote system, similar to what was done for the PS3. It's too bad the BB doesn't have an IR option. Wireless is nice, but only really if you're using the existing remote.

Bump.
Looking to find the correct info to plug into my Harmony One. I have an ir dongle and a cheapo remote working the Boxee great, but couldn't find the correct device/manf/model to duplicate the remotes codes.
Ended up learning the commands on the Harmony, which started working after many tweaks, mostly to the timing and sensitivity settings, but I still get 3 or 4 up or down movements for every one up or down button press.

Not sure what's wrong on your side, but it sounds like you've done everything right. My Harmony is setup that way through some old cheapo USB IR receiver and it works fine. I took a remote that was setup for my HTPC (ie. sending regular keystrokes, just like WMC expects, moved the IR receiver to boxee, and it works fine.

I thikn many people are pickign up the ~28 MCE2 remote and just using the reciever for it. If you do a search on Amazon for MCE2 you should be able to pull it up.

Can someone confirm that this product will add IR capabilities to the Boxee Box?

$25 and an ugly remote and the possibility it won't work properly? Just pick up an IR receiver guaranteed to work with Boxee and use a universal remote of your choice.

I set my Harmony up as a HP Media Center and it worked fine, only issue is you get the 'double click' when going from the drop down menu to either shows or Movies. Going from the 'Home Screen. to any menu works fine so its a BB issue. A bit of a pain but I understand the next firmware release will fix it (I hope) I added a 'wake up' command, 'exit' at the end of the macro string to transition the BB from screen saver to the home screen. One good thing is I can program short cut 'soft' buttons to jump directly to 'shows' & 'movies' as well as 'home screen' and avoid the double click issue until they fix it. So if I am say in the setup menu I can touch the 'Movies' soft button and jump right to it without all the button clicks.
On the Harmony setup 'Activity' select Customize buttons then additional buttons to access the 'soft buttons'
For 'Shows' use the device Boxee and command is 'My Videos'
For Music use command My Music
For Photos use command My Pictures
For Movies use command Recorded TV
For the Home Screen use the Media command.
Now you have direct access to the most used menus, still looking for a command to put the BB to sleep.

For Movies use command Recorded TV
That jumps to TV Shows, the same as the other command. There's no command currently that will take you to the move library. You'd better check your settings again. This is both from personal experience, community experience and looking at the source code. :)
still looking for a command to put the BB to sleep.
That will come once we've compiled the final list of new commands for IR control. And there will be a proper command to take you to the movie library and every other section/library of Boxee
See the following thread (and comment in it about IR control instead of this thread):
http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=29521
And yes, 1.1 does fix the double OK from the home and pop-up menus.

Hehe that is what I was getting at... No one in the thread ever linked to a product that for sure works. That is what I got back when searching Amazon for MCE2, which has been the only advice provided so far.
I already have an RF remote I like that can can learn and blast out IR signals. Just need to know which IR receiver absolutely works with The Box.

Come on, you're pulling my leg right? ;) Do you have signatures turned off for your forum view?
