Well I got the box today. Here are some thoughts and issues.

Plays all my HD MKV files fine, only issue is why does the cover art take so load to load? Database is done, but when i reboot, cover art is slow to load, not sure if its downloading again form the internet, but if so it should be cached. If space is an issue, then store the meta data in a external harddrive or something.

Online media, doesn't play well at all, getting the green bar on top and it very slow. once it does that, i have to reboot to play any media online or local. If not, local media would either be a black screen or green bars.

Nice box, but a lot of issue out the box. I still debating about returning it and getting a Dell Zino. I'll play with it until monday.

Remote is about the only cool thing. But with ipad and iphone remotes i could do without.

There's a lot I really love about Boxee and the Boxee Box but I am also surprised at how slow the loading of the cover art is. I went out and got a new router thinking that may have been the issue but it had no effect on speed.

I also am not able to play any of the TV show videos from xfinity -- the loading screen stays up and the video never displays.

I suspect that these are all bugs that will get worked out since the product just launched. I'm a huge Boxee fan so I'm happy to ride it out as the service develops.

Yeah, looking more into the details, the box only has 1gig of flash storage, so im sure its not downloading the art and saving locally to save space. But at least have an option to save to an external USB thumb drive, it might make the interface so much faster if it uses the thumb drive to cache. I know its not a solution for the general public, but i can't stand the wait. I might just move away from the boxee box and get the new Dell Zino. Throw boxee on that.

Seems to do everything I wanted it to, which is local media streaming.
