Hello All,
I am intrerested in building a new android remote for boxee. I have never before programmed an android app before but i am eager to learn how to do that.
I tried every available android remote app in the market, but none of them has all the functions that i would expect from a remote. User "massive88" made a very good comparison of the most important remote apps. http://forums.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=18917
A while ago i installed XBMC to try out the official XBMC android remote app. It is a very complete app with MOST of the functions you would expect. In this app you can browse to your files to add one to your queue. Also the remote itself is very usefull and well layed out. The biggest downside of this app is the lack of a qwerty keyboard, so you have to use the arrow keys to search in youtube, which is a pain.
What i expect from the remote:
- A nice app interface (well layed out and nice looking)
- Shortcuts to all important screens such as my movies, music and apps
- A qwerty keyboard that popps up automatically when neccesary
- Remotely browse your files and youtube to add to your queue
- And obviously a well layed out remote screen
My goal is that you shouldn't need your arrow keys in daily usage (exept when going to settings or other apps than youtube).
Is there anybody who likes to help me with this? If you are intereseted please reply or send me a pm.
Sorry for my english ;)
