Since the Box has limited storage, I think all this data is stored on Boxee servers and accessed every time you are connected.

Really?
Anyone got any comments on how this works in user land?

IIRC, the boxee_catalog.db is stored locally and contains the metada from indexing your local content except for thumbnails/cover art, which I believe is fetched online each time you power on the Boxee Box...

So each time i power on the box it goes and gets all of my movie info in real time? So if i had it connected to hundreds fo movies i would ahve to wait while boxee fetches this each time?
Doesnt sound awesome.
Can anyone confirm exactl how the scrapes and cover art is managed by boxee box?

So each time i power on the box it goes and gets all of my movie info in real time? No, that's not what I said above. Let me try again:
Currently everything BUT cover art is stored internally, permanently (at least while the source files are available).
What is fetched over the Internet each time is cover art. This will change in the next release so that cover art is cached locally -- I'm not sure of the exact details but cover art display performance should be improved.
