720p / 1080p mkv on Mac mini

hi,
anyone using macmini to play 720p /1080p mkv movies?
planning to buy mac mini 2.0ghz that has 1 gb ram.
is the video running smoothly or is there any lagging?

i have an older 1.8ghz mini and i watch a lot of shows 720p mkv and they work flawlessly.

I have the exact Mac Mini you are looking at. I started with 1 GB of RAM, why not, right? With 1 GB it worked fine, even played some ridiculous 1080p BD rips I've got. I added the second gig and the only difference I noticed was what appeared to be a little MORE lag in the menus, when running with thumbnail view instead of list view. I could be making things up, as I don't have the time right now to pull the Mac Mini apart just for fun, but either way the video plays FINE! RAM is cheap as dirt for these Minis. Enjoy your Mac.
