I've installed Boxee on a Mac Mini Server running snow leopard 10.6.4 but have been unable to get the iphone Boxee app to connect. The application can't get past the error "invalid password". Here are the results of the investigation I've done to get pass this error with a mAc mini server:
When entering the servers IP address and port 8800 into a browser, I was presented with a username/password dialog, which I think is because the server/web server security is not allowing anonymous access to the web server running on port 8800
If I entered the username and password of a user on the server, I could access the web page.
I changed the access settings for the services running on the server so that all users and groups could access the services.
I then started boxee again on the server and this time the invalid password message didn't occur once the Boxee web server password was entered, BUT none of the buttons work, i.e. selecting an arrow doesn't move the Boxee selection on screen
I'm now trying to work backwards and work out if the invalid password message was removed by logging in with a valid username and password or it was the services access change that made the difference
I've also installed box on my iMac and the boxee remote connects and can navigate the boxee UI.
Can anybody point me to documentation on what the boxee installation installs and where on Mac specifically where the web server for Boxee is located and how it is configured as I maybe able to work out what configuration settings ned to be changed go enable the Boxee ipHone app to work on a Mac mini Server?
