I have a 2ghz Mac Mini and have been playing media over my network fine. On the last 2 builds it seems to skip for a second or two at a time more and more and just have really annoying pauses.

All my media is x264 mkv 720p usenet downloads, mainly 1.2gb tv shows.

I watch the same media through Plex and don't have this issue. Any ideas? Any debugging output I can give you guys?

I changed guisettings.xml to reflect a cache of 4096, exactly like Plex, to no avail.

thanks! Overall I love it, Boxee indexes my media the best out of all 3 of them, and is not laggy at all for my collection (around 8TB)

the previous versions had no problem...is it happening on one specific file or on all files

Multiple files on multiple file servers using smb. All of them are x264 720p encoded.
I can use Plex, or another machine in the house and stream it fine and I've even ran it in windowed with istat menu going monitoring cpu/memory/network and haven't noticed anything spike unreasonably while using Boxee.

I did just notice a new version (I think I had 3935? before) is out so I have updated and will let you know if this continues.

... nearly lost it (remote survived) with buffering over to my iMac.

Previous builds had been 'perfect' with my setup, I am a little pleased to read that I am not the only one seeing issues.

Just had to quit Boxee and use VLC to stream an x264.

Setup is v.0.9.3964 iMac alu 2.4Ghz 24"

SMB shares on Airport Extreme and mac mini (wired 100mbit) iMac connected via 5Ghz 802.11N.

Streaming with VLC works fine (over AFP - didn't try SMB).

Previously I could stream high-bitrate 1080p content with no problem, now I am even getting buffering with DVD ISO's.
