Boxee got about five folders into a rather extensive library on a network share (cataloged most episodes from five different TV seasons). Had to reboot. Now coming back I don't see Boxee continuing to scan the media in the sources.
Tried waiting a half hour - nothing. Tried deleting & adding the source - it remembered the previously cataloged files but is still not updating further.
How is Boxee supposed to handle scanning and updating - continuously, or on a schedule? Any way I can shake this loose?

Boxee updates :
1] Continously
2] With no feedback
3] Very slowly
There's been lots of talk about #2, but nothing yet.

I've noticed #2-3, but I really think #1 stopped happening in my case. I trashed the DB in the Settings menu and started over -- see how that goes.

Boxee continuously scans your folders for any changes ect ..it runs in the background so leaving it parked for few hours should help this also depends on the size of the content .. try to add the sources one at a time directly to the content folder ..check out this thread (http://forum.boxee.tv/showthread.php?t=1147) for more info

marcel - getting there. I have found that Boxee *usually* pulls in metadata with the convention 01x01 as well (instead of s01e01).
However I had a number of folders that were 100% unrecognized. [EDIT: I left Boxee up overnight and there was zero movement.] Finally figured out I had to go to Video -> Sources, drill to the subfolder, and manually "Recognize".
My biggest issue now is duplicates. For several shows, each ep is showing up two or three times (pointing to the same file). Is there a way to clean this up?

can you send me some file formats of shows that were not recognized..duplication usually happens when boxee recognizes some of the episodes and some not and you manually try to recognize the whole folder...
the simplest solution would be to erase the library (settings>general)..or you can rename the duplicate files on your file source and let boxee re-index it again..
