Boxee Performance on

I've tried using search and found no results which surprised me, so I thought I'd post.

I have a 2008 Mac mini with stats posted below running the newest version of Boxee Beta available at the time of this posting. Of course complemented by Candelair to make my remote work.

OS 10.6.4
1.83 GHZ Core 2 Duo
1 GB DDR2 667

Is it just me and my machine or do any of the following issues plague anyone else?

Playing anything from FOX as a source is unwatchable by reasonable standards. It plays at roughly 5 FPS and at seemingly "magnified" resolution instead of actual fullscreen. FOX.com plays through Safari beautifully and is of HD quality.

Playing anything from CBS results in wonderful looking picture and even better with the HD shows, but none of the controls work. E.g. no pause, no fast forward, just play and hope you don't need a bathroom break.

Netflix won't work at all anymore, just prompts a DRM error.

what Boxee build are you using? 0.9.21.11497?
Regarding the DRM error please try renaming your BOXEE folder under ~/Library/Application support/

Yes, running 0.9.21.11497.

And /sigh, even after renaming and deleting the BOXEE folder you mentioned I still get a N8152 error for Netflix.

Hopefully someone has something to add / solve this. Is this the only place for support or should I just give up and move on.

For your Netflix authorization error, see this article on my blog. Its often a matter of rebuilding some .plists.

EDIT: The reason I wrote that blog entry was because somehow by installing Boxee I upset those plists and killed my Netflix functionality too.
