Hi,

i add via the boxee bookmarklet videos from youtube and vimeo to the boxee queue. the youtube videos play just fine: image and sound, just as ist should be.

vimeo videos dont: when i press play the vimeo "loading flower" starts to animate, but stops after some seconds, some seconds later the sound starts, but i only have the frozen vimeo loading screen.

tech i use:

boxee 0.9.21.11497
mac mini 1.83 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM
Mac OS X 10.6.3
Adobe Flash 10.1 (just upgraded, and the problem didn't disappear)

I found that out the other day with Windows and an HD file.

I've not tested it further, but it may be the format or something that is not compatible with boxee. The Vimeo app, however, works just fine, but it does not play the HD version of the file. ;)

@Judges: It's odd that the test file we tried only matched this behavior (at least for moi') once I added it to the Boxee queue list. When it was in the feeds list it played properly. I only added it to the queue to make it easier to get at.

Well the feed version of Vimeo videos are the SD version used in the vimeo app. So, that's why that one plays ok.

The one used with the bookmarklet will be the HD link....if you had it in HD mode when you used the bookmarklet. ;)

so we have to live with it? or is there a solution? HD video in the vimeo plugin works.

Correction: The video in the vimeo app appears to be an HD MP4 file.

Now, why the Vimeo HD Flash link via the bookmarket is not compatible with Boxee on some Windows-7...I don't yet know.

There is a similar issue with Twitt TV and TED HD streams in Windows 7. I passed on some tests to Marcel and they are looking into the why's.

So weird because I don't have any problems on either of my W7 systems with TEDTalks HD via the RSS app, etc.

Yeah, it's strange. I've talked to marcel about it too.

Here is the vimeo HD Flash stream via the boxee bookmarklet:

Here is the H264 MP4 file stream via the vimeo app:

Bottom line, the bookmarklet is flash based HD. Of course, boxee overscans the Flash and the size is smaller than 720P. BUt it is the HD Flash steam nonetheless.
The app is an HD MP4 stream that you can buffer as well.
Here are the pics on Boxee on an XP box.

Yup, its fixed now. Thanks, Marcel!

But, delete any Vimeo videos you have previously put in your boxee Que via the Bookmarklet. As they will still not work.

Go to Vimeo and rebookmark the videos. Now they will play from the boxee Que.
